Sensory tools are the little things that pack a big punch. We all know this! My classrooms have always been filled with regulation tools like stress balls and weighted lap pads. Lately, I am noticing one of the biggest struggles I see in students are inclusion and transition times. It can be really hard to bring impactful sensory tools to all the environments our students enter. This is why when I learned about OTOblocs, I was a believer.
Building block fidget hybrid
OTOblocs are interlocking blocks shaped like the letters “O” and “T”. They help foster creativity like a building block while also providing the support of a fidget. Did I mention how small they are? OTOblocs are literally perfect for students across the multiple environments of the school day.
Age appropriate sensory tool
If you work with older students or kids who are sensitive about “baby-ish” items, you know the struggle. A lot of sensory tools can seem designed for younger kids. OTOblocs are so simply made that they can extend from little kids through adulthood. Every single day (no, seriously) I find myself fiddling with mine on my desk during my marathon of Zoom calls.
Accessible for all
It’s not just the age appropriate nature for me, but the colors, and the price! I love that OTOblocs aren’t ascribed to gender norms. They are white, black, red, yellow, and blue which are colors everyone can enjoy. They are also super reasonably priced. So many meaningful sensory tools are over $50, making it hard for families, clinics, and classrooms to get their hands on them. OTOblocs are super inexpensive and still made from quality materials. If you use my link, you’ll even get 20% off!
